I find that they do not give up and are very talented at there work they take their time. Established in 1954 and still open today. Plus they are the only ones sill working in the area.
Thom designed and installed a stairway railing from my screened-in porch to the backyard level of my home. He came and measured on a Sunday, in order to accommodate my schedule. Thom was professional, clear and spent additional time to educate me about the requirements of the job ( I needed to observe the town's buidling code in order to obtain a certificate of occupancy). Within 10 days, Thom installed the railing and we could not be more pleased. I would strongly recommend him.
So many contractors cannot be trusted to come to your home and properly complete the job for which they are hired. I have a long list of messy, dishonest and unethical vendors whom I will go out of my way to repudiate. Thom is the exact opposite. He takes pride in his generational business and will make sure when his installation is finished, your home is in better condition than when he first arrived.
I give Tom's Iron Works very high marks and would have no issues recommending them to others that are seeking wrought iron fencing and rails.
We commissioned Tom to do an indoor banister and we absolutely LOVE the results. Tom did an amazing job~we're thrilled to have his artwork in our home. And it is truly a work of art! He is craftsman of the highest caliber.
This is a family business that is run by Thom LaBarbera and his son, Brian, and was originally founded by Thom's father. They built a very beautiful wrought iron fence for me that had a custom design with hand forged C and S scrolls. The work was very intricate and I was extremely pleased with the final product. They clearly take a lot of pride in the work they do. I looked at a number of other fence companies, but Thom's operation really stood out. All their iron is bought in Italy and custom worked and assembled at their shop in Brookfield, CT using tools that have been in the business for generations and Old World style craftmanship. They only handle wrought iron and are specialists at their trade. As a fence buyer, it gave me comfort to know that I could see the fence coming together at at their shop. Communication with them was also very good and frequent.
Every other fence company that I talked to seemed to sell product from China out of catalogs and certainly did not specialize in wrought iron. The other fence companies tended to be general merchandizers that sold many more lower priced aluminum, steel and chain link fences, rather than high strength and beautiful wrought iron fences.
